"One minute can charge up to 30 degrees", accelerating the charging of new energy heavy-duty trucks

Qingdao Haihuide Electric has developed an industry-leading single machine charging station with an output power of 1.8 megawatts, and its business volume has increased by 50% year-on-year in the first two months of this year.

The charging of new energy vehicles is becoming a reality as fast as refueling a gasoline vehicle.

At Qingdao Haihuide Electric Co., Ltd., workers shuttle back and forth, and production is busy and orderly. This national level specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprise has developed an industry-leading single machine output power of 1.8MW (megawatts) charging pile, which has been put into use in the Bayin Mengkenayuan Coal Mine in Ordos. The new energy heavy-duty truck adopts a "three gun co charging" method, which can achieve charging up to 30 degrees per minute.

Charging stations are an important link in the new energy vehicle industry chain and are expected to experience explosive growth. The continuous heating of the market has brought "happiness troubles" to Haihuide due to insufficient space, and some parking spaces outside the factory have become "temporary warehouses" filled with charging piles ready for loading and transportation. "Our business volume increased by 50% year-on-year in the first two months of this year," Guo Wei, Deputy General Manager of Haihuide, told reporters.



Haihuide's single machine output power of 1.8 MW charging station has been implemented in the field of new energy heavy-duty trucks.

"Charge 30 degrees in 1 minute"

Common new energy vehicle batteries have a capacity of less than 80 kWh and can be fully charged in a few minutes.

If megawatt level overcharging is popularized in scenarios such as highways, buses, heavy-duty trucks, and logistics, charging will truly be as convenient as refueling, effectively solving the range anxiety of new energy vehicle users.

"Ten years of sharpening a sword"

The new technologies that give birth to new quality productive forces are not achieved overnight and require a long incubation period.

For the charging pile industry, 2014 was an extremely important turning point. At that time, the curtain of China's rapid development of new energy vehicles had just begun, and national policies began to encourage social capital to participate in the construction of charging and swapping facilities. Haihuide, which had only been established for 5 years, was determined to enter the charging pile from its original power electronics business.

The main founders are all from a technical background, which has allowed Haihuide to carry its own "engineering culture" gene from the beginning of its development. Early charging stations mainly used "one machine, one gun" integrated charging, which was difficult to meet the needs of high-power charging. The team specifically discussed the technical route in a homestay in Laoshan. After returning to the company, they continuously experimented and improved, and ultimately developed the core product, the intelligent power scheduling charging system, which combines low-power slow charging with high-power fast charging, laying a solid technical foundation for future research and development of high-power charging.

In the blink of an eye, 10 years have passed, and the penetration rate of new energy vehicles in China has gone from negligible to over 30%, and the charging pile industry has also moved from the edge of the stage to the center of the stage. The energy "national team" represented by State Grid, Sinopec, and PetroChina, leading car companies represented by Tesla, BYD, and Ideal, and third-party operators led by TEDA, Xingxing Charging, and Nenglian Zhidian have basically formed a tripartite competitive pattern.

In this fiercely competitive and highly dispersed market, Haihuide's development model can be said to be unique: it has not entered the "burning money" operation field, but insists on technology driven, with public transportation and regional operators as sub sectors, positioning itself as a "one-stop charging technology service provider", providing comprehensive industrial ecological services, and helping charging station operators build their own operational capabilities.

In recent years, Haihuide has achieved an average annual growth of more than 50% in revenue, and can continue to make profits every year. It has built the largest centralized charging station in Shandong in Liaocheng, the most cold resistant charging station in Mohe that can still operate stably at minus 53 degrees Celsius, and the highest altitude charging station in Yulong Copper Mine, Changdu, Xizang... Such steady performance is rare in the charging pile industry that continues to "roll in".

"The charging station business accounts for over 90% of Haihuide's business, and we invest tens of millions of yuan annually in research and development, continuously promoting technological innovation, and developing suitable products according to different charging scenarios to better meet user needs," Guo Wei said.
